Fun In Florida

So far our college tour has been going great! Today the tour group went to Florida Tech and Florida A & M University after arriving to Florida. When we arrived to Florida Tech I fairly thought the colleges were going to be uninteresting and not meet my expectations. Never judge a book by it’s cover! This community college may have looked imperfect on the exterior but the interior changed my perspective. This college offered more than education, they are truly a family. The class sizes are very small so students can interact more and won’t shy away from asking questions. I personally love being in a class where I can feel comfortable enough to communicate with the teacher and students, my grades are at my highest in these classes.

HBCU: Yay or Nae

Today we visited Spelman and Emory University and I absolutely loved the both of them! They offered many opportunities that will help students to further their future career. I would have to say that my favorite university is Spelman! I say this because they have a very strict policy about males not going on campus at all. Females may go to the all boy college Morehouse anytime they would like but it’s forbidden for them to go on the females campus. A strict policy like this would make me more focus on my goal and have less distractions to deal with. Spelman’s campus was very small but felt comfortable, almost like home. I truly could see myself attending this college in the future, it has everything I look for in a university. I think historically black colleges are very great for people who are comfortable being with the same race but, if an individual is looking for a more diversity  they should attend a regular college. Being with more diversity will get a person more prepared with the real world.
