Very Last College

Today on July 18, 2014 we got on the road and went to visit Keiser University, one of the very last colleges. This college reminded me of Florida Tech in a way, everything was in one building, but Keiser University is a whole lot bigger and offers much more than other colleges typically would. See, Keiser University holds up to about 18,000 students and is one of the largest independent universities in Florida, I was astounded when I heard that. Keiser also has its own uniqueness to it, I say that because this college actually has you take one class per-month, yeah I said it, one class, so that means all your focus is just on one class, one homework assignment, one Final and one teacher. This college seemed like a dream come true because all my life I been taking all seven classes, and when I thought about, if high school is this stressful now, then that means college is going to be 3-times more stressful. That’s not the end of it though, Keiser also taught something vital, they taught me that I should for now on make sure the schools I will be applying for in the near future to make sure they are regionally accredited instead of nationally accredited, because if a unversity is regionally accredited then you’ll have a much better chance of getting a job out of college, but if the university you apply for is nationally accredited, and you end up going there, you can kiss that job you think your going to get out of college good-bye. So that’s what I learned at Keiser, and to calm everything down we went to Daytona Beach, which was cool, and I enjoyed myself.

All in All Very Swell

Today on July 17, 2014,  we visited two colleges, loaded on the bus around 10:15 a.m. and headed to Florida Tech. Florida Tech was not relatively a large school, it was about the size of a small mall and it really was more of a back up school or alternative school per se, but they definitely had great characters and had multiple people that greeted us when we arrived. They were also well prepared for us, as far as gifts and etc. that they allotted us. We also visited Florida A & M, now this school was the best of the two in my opinion even though we did not get the chance to see the whole campus, we actually just saw their school of law which was just as good because we were in a air conditioned building throughout the tour. We learned that their Dean of their law school was the longest African-American to be in office. We had a great talk with him and you could tell how hard the man worked just to get where he is now. So all in all everything went swell.

One College in One Day-YAY

Today, of July 16, 2014 we visited University of Georgia, I was very happy when we just had to visit one college, it brought a tear to my eye, but I actually stacked up on a lot of information, like this college is ranked No.4 by the national Research council for scientific productivity in American colleges of agricultural science. This campus was actually three times bigger than Georgia Tech, it’s actually as big as a small city, I was kinda amazed when I heard that. this tour we had to self-guide ourselves again, but we had a tour guide, but just one of our own, and that person was me, so we got a map and a packet which had all the history on the different buildings and got to it, a lot people said it was best tour they had in a while.

Three College In One Day

On July 15, 2014 we visited not two, but three colleges. These colleges were Georgia Tech, which had a very large campus, one of the largest we had been to. The others were Emory University and Morehouse College. Now Georgia Tech we had to do a self-guided tour, which was even better because we can go where we wanted to, but that doesn’t mean it was my favorite college, my favorite college would had to had been Emory University, the reason for that is because they did not lack character, and that’s what I like to look for in people, and overall the campus was just beautiful. Now last but not least we went Morehouse and Spelman, we were split up and the girls went to Spellman and the boys stayed at Morehouse because it is a all guy college. The campus there is really compacted, but I don’t mind compacted, the tour guide was cool and I just really appreciated him.

College Vibes

On July 14, 2014 we visited Atlantic Metropolitan University and Clark Atlanta University. Personally I did not like the vibe I got from Atlantic Metropolitan University, the tour guide was not genuine, she lacked a plethora of information, as far as the retention rate which is something a representative for a college should know and overall lost my interest quickly and found it very bland. Clark Atlanta on the other hand had a very outgoing vibe, not only that, but they are a lot more diverse character wise. The tour guide was amazing and will never fail to be amazing, he had a great personality and just kept it real with us the whole time, I would suggest a lot of people should apply there, because I think anyone would blend in with everybody.
