Most Enjoyable Day

We started off our day pretty late this morning. We woke up at noon to head to Orlando’s Universal Studios. A large majority of us went to Adventure Island however. I feel as though everyone enjoyed themselves to the fullest extent. We had the chance to experience the newly built Harry Potter attraction portion of the park which I will say was my favorite. There was a lot to do on that side of the the park as well as performers for people to watch. This had to be one of the most enjoyable days on the tour.

Keiser and Daytona

Today we started our day by visiting Keiser University. This college had a very interesting academic structure. They only let you take one class per month making a lesser stress load for their students. This college also centers around structure in order to make college life easier for their students. After visiting Keiser we headed to Daytona beach. I think that everyone enjoyed themselves as well as the mellow weather.

College Advice

We started our day off this with a tour of Florida Technical College. The staff was really nice and very informative. Although they don’t offer a lot of programs it was a great college nonetheless. The second and last college we toured today was Florida A&M University Law School. While there we had the opportunity to meet the longest sitting dean in the country. He gave us a lot of great advice about colleges and how to choose the right one to fit our interests.

Great Day of Touring

Today we toured three phenomenal colleges. First up was Georgia Tech, a prestigious engineering school. The campus was very large but however still gorgeous. The second was Emory University, a very selective private school. This school had phenomenal educational programs  as well as a gorgeous campus. Finally, we visited the all girl college Spelman. I was really impressed with our tour guide she was very thorough and answered all of our questions with pleasure. All in all we had a great day of touring.

On The Run With Georgia Colleges

Today we visited several places in Georgia. Our first stop was Georgia Tech. This was a very nice college that centered a lot around engineering. They also seemed to be very supportive and encouraging of their women engineers. Our next stop was Emory University. A college with an extremely gorgeous campus and lots of program to offer. Then the guys and girls split up to visit Morehouse and Spelman colleges. Spelman- the all girls college had a very nice campus and a lot to offer as well. After visiting all of these wonderful colleges we headed to the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic site. This was a great experience in which we were able to pay homage to a very significant piece of our black history. All in all it was a pretty busy day but well worth the experience.

Facts About Emory

Today we visited the gorgeous campus at Emory University. This happens to be a private institution that indeed had a lot to offer including several educational programs and over 300 clubs and organizations. Emory is a highly selective University only accepting the best of the best. They also look for students that are diverse and involved with things other than just academics. Although their tuition is quite expensive it is a great school to look into.

Emory University’s yearly tuition is about $58,000. Now don’t let the price of tuition deter you from going, they offer several scholarships especially for those that apply or commit early. Also their financial aid package averages at about $38,000.

This University offers several educational opportunities including over 70 majors as well as 50 minors. They also offer honors programs. Emory has a 95% retention rate and about 200 transfer students per year.

As stated before this is a highly selective school so inherently the admission requirements are harder to achieve. The average ACT score for admitted students is a 30 and a GPA of 3.8 to 4.0. However, these aren’t the only things they look at so don’t feel discouraged. They look for students that are involved and diverse. For example a student with a 3.4 GPA could be accepted over a 4.0 student simply because they have more extra curricular activities or have done volunteer work.

All in all this was a great University to visit. Despite the expensive tuition this would be a great college to attend considering all of the programs and amenities they offer.
